My name is Amy Scruggs, and I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2008 from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and I am currently a graduate student there; I am working on my Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MATESOL). For the past eight years I have worked in the government and private sectors in Human Resources, but I always felt teaching was what I needed to be doing. I spent some time in Guatemala teaching ESL through my college, and it was the most rewarding experience I have had thus far. I love traveling and exploring other cultures, so I am thrilled to be part of AIS this year. My goal for my students this year is to encourage them to learn as much as they possibly can, and have fun doing it!!
